steel tank design

(OP)
Good evening,

I would appreciate somebody helping me to get a pdf of  "Basis of Seismic Design Provisions for Welded Steel Oil Storage Tanks" by Wozniak and Mitchell.

More generally, what would be a good book on the structural design of steel tanks and their foundations?

TIA

RE: steel tank design

Let's see, since no one is stating the obvious:
API 650 Steel Oil Tanks
AWWA D100 Steel Water Tanks
AWWA M42 Design of Potable Water Tanks

RE: steel tank design

The document you noted was part of a conference proceeding and is protected by copyright.  Can't be posted here.

As for the books...JC has given a good list.  There was a publication by Bethlehem Steel about 35 years ago that was excellent but not available anymore.  Since the company is now defunct, I'll see if I can find my copy and scan it.

JedClampett, I am of course familiar with these and other API and AWWA codes.  I was thinking more along the lines of a good handbook or textbooks that would supplement the codes.

The actual article by Wosniak and and Mitchell is more of a nostalgic and collectable value.

Thanks!

RE: steel tank design

If I remember right, I've seen that paper years ago and it was relatively useless.  It more or less gave the requirements that were going to go into the API-650 App. E, but didn't really go into much detail about the derivation of those requirements.

Now....  say tank you! for their time and effort on your behalf.
