Error messages

(OP)
Every now and then I seem to be getting error messages when trying to save my work.

The first error message usually reads:
"Failed to save document"

The next time I try to save it says:
"An API call exited abnormally"

This is very frustrating as my current remedy is save the file in different location then move it to the proper location and overwrite the existing file.

Any ideas on how to solve the ROOT cause of this problem??

RE: Error messages

This used to happen a lot when people were working over a network. It was a transient issue that was next to impossible to capture.
What is your work process? What about your system specs? What version of SW are you using?

RE: Error messages

95% of the time my files are saved onto the network. I've noticed I only get these errors when working on the server. For a period of time, I saved files locally without any issues.

I have 'write' access in all directories where I'm having problems.

My system:

Software:SW 2010 SP4.0, 64bit
OS: Windows 7, 64bit
Processor: Intel Core2 Quad (4GB RAM)
