Opening legacy NX5 / Ideas in NX 7.5...

Opening legacy NX5 / Ideas in NX 7.5...

Opening legacy NX5 / Ideas in NX 7.5...

(OP)
I've got about a dozen parts that I'm sure are Ideas format. Created in a version comparable to the time NX5 was the latest.

I'm not seeing anything in the help files for doing this and I have no experience to draw on.

I thought these systems were fully integrated now... Any advice?

TIA
Dave

RE: Opening legacy NX5 / Ideas in NX 7.5...

Ideas files have to be MIGRATED using a set of tools which are available from Siemens, but the original 'native' Ideas files are not automatically retrievable in NX.  If you have a license for Ideas which is current and up-to-date (paid up) you should be able to get the migration tools as part of your upgrade to NX.  If however you've just ended up with some files which were last saved in Ideas, you should contact GTAC as they might be able to help you get the files 'migrated' without having to actually have Ideas installed at your facility.
