heli-coil thread definitions for NX

heli-coil thread definitions for NX

(OP)
Does anyone have the heli-coil thread definitions for the thd_english.dat and thd_metric.dat NX files?

Running cad straight out of the box is OK but, a system tuned with application software is the best way to increase productivity.

RE: heli-coil thread definitions for NX

Imperial unit Heli-Coils are already covered as part of the new Threaded-Hole feature.  A request has been made to add the Metric specs as well, so unless someone has created/edit a custom .dat file(s), there will be no plans for Siemens to make any changes like that.

We are currently staying away from the new hole feature (NX6.0.5.3 mp3) due to some reported problems.  I will look at the Threaded-Hole feature definitions.

And what 'problems' would that be and have you experienced them yourself?  And if so, have you contacted GTAC and opened PR's?

In a hole array we had a problem with one of the instances going all the way through the part and not stopping at the selected face.  Also we were waiting for the change hole type function to be developed.  We also have our own custom hole definition standards and will need to modify or append to the default files supplied.

Have you contacted GTAC with the problem with the 'Through Hole'?

As for changing the Hole type (which BTW was NOT a regression from pre-NX 5.0), that will not be supported until NX 8.0, which is still a long ways off.
