Is this forum's search function unreliable?
(OP)
I used the search function for this forum with some pretty generic terms and came up empty. I was also coming up with relatively old posts. For example it is hard for me to believe that no ones has posted a question about "part lists" since 2007. I searched for "cast" which was in a post from today and search did not find it.
Has anyone else noticed this?

RE: Is this forum's search function unreliable?
go to google search (www.google.com), and enter your search terms followed by "nx site:eng-tips.com".
for example, to search for parts list, enter this into the google search:
parts lists nx site:eng-tips.com
RE: Is this forum's search function unreliable?
It seems to me that the results that it gives are from older, and archived, threads.
and yes, "parts list" has come up many times.

I believe is installed along with NX or at least it was for Unigraphics when I used it. I believe their is a link in the Interface Help Menu or one of the UI elements.

RE: Is this forum's search function unreliable?
An alternative to potrero's suggestion is to use the google custom search box in the upper left corner. It automatically limits the search to this site, you may want to add part of this forum's name to help limit results to this forum. For example, I would type in "UG/NX parts list".
