Controlled Permeability Formwork?

Controlled Permeability Formwork?

Controlled Permeability Formwork?

(OP)
Just wondering does this type of formwork increase the amount of times that the timber formwork can be re-used?
I am unsure whether the lining goes between the concrete and timber. Only learnt of this type of formwork today and am having trouble finding decent info on it.

Cheers in advance

RE: Controlled Permeability Formwork?

Probably the wrong Forum - there is one for Concrete Formwork Engineering.  I've seen several articles on permeable formwork a few years back, along with vacuum-formed concrete.  If my memory serves me correctly, it was a product similar to a geotextile.  I have never heard of its application here in the US.  I would say that the benefits can't be good enough to overcome the additional cost.

I honestly can't offer an opinion about it enhancing the number of uses.  I believe it was used like a formwork liner (between the concrete and the form surface), so it seems that it could enhance the durability of the form facing (shuttering) material.
