Butterfly valve question

Butterfly valve question

Butterfly valve question

(OP)
Hello all you Guys,

probably a obvious question, but i'm not too familiar with this field, so be gentle.

Does a (butterfly)valve body need to be a "one-piece" item, or may it be bolted/welded together from separate parts?

Thank you all kindly.

RE: Butterfly valve question

API609 doesn't seem to have any prohibition against split body butterfly valves, but I haven't yet seen an example of one of these valves.

Some butterfly valves have seat retainer plates which, one could argue, may be a split body pattern.

RE: Butterfly valve question

I have seen large (24" -36") butterflys that were split , but I am guessing you have smaller sizes in mind.
