Robbustness of Trim feature

Robbustness of Trim feature

(OP)
Hello,

I have a problem with Trim feature.
A surface being trimmed changes its location depending on a parameter.
As it "moves" - some of the trimming sheets don't intersect it anymore, while others start intersecting and trim.

The problem is, during such transition, the region to be kept is jumping to another location.

Question: how to control the selection of the kept region.
Since, I'm doing parametric goal study with Excel, updating every jump of the trim by hand is not an option. The model has to be robust.

Greatly appreciate any input. Thanks!

RE: Robbustness of Trim feature

It is really hard to determine why it is doing that odd thing without actually seeing it, because that really doesn't sound normal.
It could have something to do with your modeling tolerances.

Maybe try "replace face" to see if that will do a better job at accomplishing what you need.

btw, don't forget to specify what version of NX you are on.
