Hello Everyone,

I've a question about jounts. In particular about grooved joints. Is there something written in the NFPA13 about this.
And if so; what value is recommended for the friction loss.
But most important, is it somewhere enclosed in the NFPA 13.

NFPA doesn't list this explicitly as a required pressure loss.  Grooved pipes butt up against each other, and are therefore calculated as a single run of piping, with the pressure loss being calculated with the Hazen-Williams equation.  The c factor is used to account for friction inside the pipe.

If it's a dry system, make sure the couplings have flush seal gaskets, and use the appropriate c factor to account for increased friction inside the pipe.
