NX NASTRAN ADVANCED FLOW can analyse a domain in motion ?

NX NASTRAN ADVANCED FLOW can analyse a domain in motion ?

NX NASTRAN ADVANCED FLOW can analyse a domain in motion ?

(OP)
Hello, I have a question. Is it possible that NX NASTRAN ADVANCED FLOW can analyse a domain in motion ?, for example, I need to make an analyse of the flow through a gate valve moving towards its open or close position.

Regards.

RE: NX NASTRAN ADVANCED FLOW can analyse a domain in motion ?

Hello!,
Well, first at all let me tell you that "NX NASTRAN Advanced Fow" don't exist, NX NASTRAN code don't support fluid flow analysis, you are confused with "NX/Flow & NX Advanced Flow" or also FEMAP/Flow & FEMAP/Advanced Flow products from SIEMENS PLM Software that both includes the CFD solver from MAYA Heat Transfer Technologies Ltd (http://www.mayahtt.com/) integrated in both NX Advanced Simulation and FEMAP.

After this simply clarification, I can tell you that the MAYA-TMG solver do not support (yet!!, but I guess it will be very soon) moving meshes, it allows to study High speed flow in rotating equipment, support multiple parts rotating with respect to each other, Multi-species fluid mixing, etc..

Yes, you can take account rotation and translation motion influencing the fluid flow, but this is a boundary condition, not possible to perform a "transient" fluid flow analysis remeshing mesh domain as valve moves its open or close position.

Best regards,
Blas.
