Quality assurance systems / accelerated life cycle testing

(OP)
Back in the day I worked at Motorola. They had a top notch Quality Assurance system including on Accelerated Lifecycle Testing all as part of Six Sigma. Now I am at a smaller instrument company that has grown to where we need a QA and ALT program. I don't want to reinvent the wheel but I don't know exactly where to get started. I thought about the automotive PPAP system. It has a very through QA system but it doesn't help us with ALT or environmental testing because our products are used indoors.

What systems are out there available to the public?

How do you establish the criteria for the ALT tests? The testing houses have been much less help then I expected.

Are there Milspec that we could adopt?

RE: Quality assurance systems / accelerated life cycle testing

The book Accelerated Testing and Validation by Alex Porter provides and excellent overview on accelerated test programs and how to make them actually meaningful.
