AWS D.1.1 2010 Table 4.5 and 4.6 Electrical Characteristics

(OP)
I do have the next situation:

We have WPS based on testing Clause 4. and CNV testing is applicalble for the customer job.

Customer wil not accept acc to tabel 4.5 proces parameters: the range for voltage increase or decrease >7% and Amperage >10 procent.

At tabele 4.6 is mentioned that 9)an increase on the heat input is a reason for wpqr requalification. Is it true that i have to change all wps parameters for production welding to the highest heat input on wpqr measured, or can i still use the ranges at tabel 4.5?

RE: AWS D.1.1 2010 Table 4.5 and 4.6 Electrical Characteristics

Table 4.6 are requirements or restrictions that are in addition to those listed in Table 4.5.

The heat input of the production welds can be less than that recorded on the PQR when you qualified the welding procedure, but the welding parameters must still fall within the ranges permitted by Table 4.5.

Best regards - Al
