Add data to several bolts

Add data to several bolts

Add data to several bolts

(OP)
I am trying to simulate an assembly that consist of several bolts. Is it a way to select several bolts at once and add the same data (pretention, diameter etc) to them all?

Kind regards,

RE: Add data to several bolts

I don't think so, but if in the PropertyManager of the Bolt connector you click the push-pin, when you click OK it will keep all of your parameters and simply allow you to make two new selections and OK again, until you're done.

Hope that helps.

And if you're on 2011 Simulation, you can also afterwards select multiple Bolt connectors and edit them all at once, change a value, OK it and boom, you're done!

RE: Add data to several bolts

You haven't defined a contact set between the two mating faces. The whole model is being treated as one solid block; your bolt connectors won't receive the proper load.

RE: Add data to several bolts

Also, I just read in the help that, if you used the Hole Series command (an assembly level feature) the bolt connector can auto-populate all of the holes in that series for you.

Of course, like just about anything in a parametric modeler, this only does you good if you managed to do it just. like. that. But hey, your hole count seems manageable on that screenshot, keep it in mind if in the future you have very large amounts of holes to bolt :)
