Controllogix Ethernet

(OP)
I've been having a problem connecting to our network on occasion and I'm sure it's a Window 2000 network setting. At times I can't connect to the PLC, with no response pinging. I can make it work by connecting to the internet, pinging to confirm, then returning to the PLC network. At times it will take a bit longer as the connection appears to be negotiating.

Anyone experienced this and what is the quick solution?

RE: Controllogix Ethernet

Check the IP settings on your computer's NIC. Sounds like it is setup for DHCP and not getting an address when connected to the PLC.

RE: Controllogix Ethernet

Also if a wireless card exists in the pc make sure to disable it by right clicking on it in "network connections" and selecting "disable"
