Fluid Structure Interaction literature

(OP)
Can anyone please advise on a good book on FSI with applications. I've searched through the usual channels and most literature appears to be heavily biased towards pure theory with what seems little practical application of the method.

Cheers.

RE: Fluid Structure Interaction literature

I once attended a symposium on Underwater shock analysis by Dr Thomas Geers aond Dr Youing Shin. Very proffesional and interesting. Much useful information on FSI. Look up Dr Thomas Geers and/or Dr Young Shin on the IN.

RE: Fluid Structure Interaction literature

seems that there is a lot of practical applications touched on in the literaure, but the modelling is computational with multiple CPU's or GPU's taking days to run the cases. welcome to the club...

RE: Fluid Structure Interaction literature

GPUs are absurdly cheap nowadays, though.  A GeForce  GTS 250 with 128 processor cores on the GPU is only about $150 at the local Frys.  There are free tools for development.

That's way cheaper than a barge test with real explosives...
