Casting Polyurethane foam armrests

(OP)
We are looking at making polyurethane foam armrests. We need this item in small quantities (500/year) Can anyone guide me thorugh the material selection and manufacturing  process for such items. I am told we can cast polyurethane at room temp in selastic rubber moulds?

RE: Casting Polyurethane foam armrests

polyurethane needs to be "cooked" in order to cure.  You can use silicon or epoxy molds, but with 500 parts a year, you are much better off with an aluminum mold.
