Equipment selection

Equipment selection

Equipment selection

(OP)
Hello all

When we select equipment, always the available value dose not match the load calculations,
sensible load could be in range, but latent  load is not, or visa-versa.
the sensible load would be ok in range of up to 5 or 6% less than calculated, but waht about the recomended range of the latent load
Thanks

RE: Equipment selection

You need both to match or slightly exceed the calculated load in order to meet the load at those conditions.  Simple as that.
If the sensible is met, but the latent is insufficient, you probably need to be looking at more coils rows, preconditioning your OA or some other similar measure.

RE: Equipment selection

You need to understand how your load calcs were obtained prior to selecting the equipment. there are alot of "assumptions" made if you are using a packaged software to do the calc for you. Your enviroment plays a significant role also as to the ratio of latent to sensible loading and understanding the actual use of the area to be conditioned will ultimately answer your question.

Machines rarely send E-mails and complaints about being uncomfortable, but let the humidity creep up on an office of old ladies and your phone will be ringging off the hook!

RE: Equipment selection

A true selection of exact sensible and latent load is never possible. As KiwiMace said, let the selection exceed both the sensible and latent by a bit. Thats the only way to get the proper selection.
