I am having problems running the abaqus input file. can anyone help me step by step please? when I open the command window, the default directory is c:\temp

RE: Abaqus input file

Right click on the command window icon and properties. Target will show you the directory it opens at. Otherwise type in cd "name" to change directory.

OK, thank's. But I can not get my .inp file to run. Where do I in such case get my results? Do they come in the same folder?

RE: Abaqus input file

To run the input file from the command window

1) As corus said, change the directory

e.g. if c:\temp is displayed, type cd.. to get to c:\>

2) Type the directory you where your input file is located

e.g. type "g:" (or whatever your file directory is if its not in c:

Then type cd Folder_1 (or whatever your folder name is where your input file is located)

3) type

abaqus job=input_1 (Or whatever the input file name is to run the input file)

'abaqus' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

So what is wrong?!

RE: Abaqus input file

I have not seen this error message before? I assume you have no issues with abaqus on your system?

Try opening the input file through cae, File, Import, Model, select your input file.

You could try it that way

RE: Abaqus input file

That error makes me think that the Abaqus installation didn't finish correctly. The installer should have put several 'commands' into you PATH variable so if you type what Jlog50 described Abaqus will run.

You should reinstall Abaqus. I am not sure if it is required but you should make sure you are doing it with administrator privileges.

RE: Abaqus input file

I have a problem after the submit of a job: "the input file was not generated, and the job was not submitted for analysis"
