Using Quick Extend in NX6 on "Added Existing Curve"

Using Quick Extend in NX6 on "Added Existing Curve"

(OP)
I am using NX6. Is it possible in sketch, to use the "quick extend" option on an "added existing curve". It doesnt seem to work and Im wondering if I need to change a setting or something. Thanks everybody.

RE: Using Quick Extend in NX6 on "Added Existing Curve"

I assume that it should, but make sure that the added curve is exactly on the same plane as the rest of the sketch.

it is....it will not work.

RE: Using Quick Extend in NX6 on "Added Existing Curve"

I got it to work for me.
I do not think the fact that it is an "add existing curve" is a factor, it must be something else.

RE: Using Quick Extend in NX6 on "Added Existing Curve"

Is the 'existing curve' used by anything else (other sketch, feature, etc)?

I have a "dumb solid" with a lets say a contoured shape subtracted out of it. The outside edges of that subtract were "extracted, using edge curves" then they were "Projected onto a Plane" that I created above it. Then I started a sketch on that plane, "adding existing curves" and created a line out from that and tried to use "quick extend" and it just wont recognize it.

RE: Using Quick Extend in NX6 on "Added Existing Curve"

When the curve was projected onto the plane, was the 'associative' option turned on?

I deleted parameters afterwards before starting the sketch, but Yes it was.

RE: Using Quick Extend in NX6 on "Added Existing Curve"

If the resulting curve is a spline, quick extend probably won't work.

yes, I can right click on it in the sketch and "edit" and you can see 1,000,000 poles, lol.
