Joslyn used to make fuses, but doesn't seem to any more.  Does anybody know where that product line landed?  I want to include a Joslyn F200E15 in an ASPEN OneLiner TCC plot, but need to know what the number crosses to in a different product line.  Thanks.

RE: Joslyn Fuses

David,

Did you check with G&W? I think that they bought at least part of Joslyn at one point.

Thanks for the idea, but the only fuses that G&W has are highly specialized for interrupting and limiting very high fault currents, nothing run of the mill like a 200E fuse.

RE: Joslyn Fuses

You might check with Monster Fuse if you haven't done that yet.

Monster fuse will sell various Joslyn fuses, but I didn't see full documentation for all the fuses they have for sale.

RE: Joslyn Fuses

I tried to look up and came to the same conclusion. It may be worthwhile talking with someone at Cooper and/or S&C, who knows fuse history (with grey hair) and may recall something.

At least one cross reference to a XS type of fuse in S&C mentions, a cooper reference and says the design originated at Joslyn.

Was Joslyn Hi Voltage related to such fuse mfr?

My guess is that there is probably only been one Joslyn company manufacturing equipment for the utility industry.  At this point I think I'll just be using a generic 200E fuse for coordination.  I still have lots of room between it and the high side of the transformer for my feeder relays, not like I'm trying to thread the needle and absolutely have to have the exact operating characteristics, I just like to use the right curve.

RE: Joslyn Fuses

You can cross referance the Joslyn fuse to some C-H and S&C versions. Instead of using Mosterfuses website give them a call and ask for Brian, he knows more about fuses than anyone really should, and some pretty bad fuse jokes too.

RE: Joslyn Fuses

Thomas & Betts bought Joslyn a few years ago.  Call them about the fuses you need.

If it is broken, fix it.  If it isn't broken, I'll soon fix that.
