I am new to vhdl coding.I am having trouble writing testbench for RAM.Can somebody please help me regarding this?

Thank you.

RE: vhdl code

What exactly are you trying to do?  I am more familiar with Verilog, but have used a little VHDL.

RE: vhdl code

I am trying to write vhdl code for 16x8 RAM.I want to know how to write the testbench module for this.

RE: vhdl code

Like "writing" different patterns and verifying data integrity?

RE: vhdl code

(OP)
Yes.Verifying whether it is properly working or not.

RE: vhdl code

The amount of different tests becomes very large depending on how confident you need to be.  What is you final application?

RE: vhdl code

My final appplication is to write a vhdl code for 16x8 bit RAM where it can perform read and write operations.

RE: vhdl code

FOR WHAT?  Are you placing this in an automotive enviornment (temperature extremes)?  Or are you putting this in a high-speed computer application (speed sensitive)?  Based on the ulitmate system requirements, you can come up with a custom test suite that will allow you to feel more comfortable that your new device will perform in your final system.
