Maintenance of Moist Rooms...

Maintenance of Moist Rooms...

Maintenance of Moist Rooms...

(OP)
My lab underwent our first CCRL inspection back in August. Though we were not written up for it at the time, we were later informed that we need to have a maintenance schedule for our moist room. It was somewhat annoying to have this pop up after we had submitted responses to everything, but that is neither here nor there at this point.

Any ideas of how I can develop a maintenance procedure for the moist room? We use a moist fan with a window ac/heating unit. All I can think of is to come up with general maintenance of the ac/heating unit, the rainbird, and the recording thermometer/sensor.

RE: Maintenance of Moist Rooms...

That's about all you can do.  They are looking mostly for the fact that you have a written procedure, not whether the procedure has much relevance.

RE: Maintenance of Moist Rooms...

The reason this came up after the fact is that it is not required by CCRL.  It is however, required by AMRL.

Now, why would AMRL care about what you do with concrete?  Well, they do not, but they do care about what is in R-18, and that is where the requirement is.  It is not in the standards that CCRL covers.

In our small operation here, we use tanks.  We had to write up how we will stir them, empty and refill, as well as lube the ball/socket on the compression machines.  Remember to include a checklist to document the maintenance as well as the schedule and procedure to do it.
