I am developing a CAE process for the thermal fatigue analysis of an automotive disc brake

One step of which is the calculation of the thermal convection co-efficients for the rotating brake disc assembly.

I am looking for some references and hopefully worked examples for the above.

I am currently studying some analytical formulae for the above generated by an ex-colleague, and some doubts have arisen in my mind.

The current practice is calculate both forced and natural co-efficients and combine them as if they are vector terms.

I have always thought that you have either forced or natural/free convection and not both at the same time?

Isn't that somewhat of an oxymoron?  If the disc is rotating, and the vehicle is moving, isn't essentially forced convection?
