v18 issues with cgm export and Section associativity
v18 issues with cgm export and Section associativity
(OP)
I'm having problems setting up a PC w/ v18.0.5 (just switching over from a Unix system of v16). Two issues:
1. I can't get it to export cgm files.
2. There is an "Associative" toggle in the Section Curve command that was not there before (in v16). The toggle is "on" and I want it "off". Regardless of turning it off with each sectioning, it is toggled back on the next time the Section command is brought up. Very annoying and time consuming. How do you turn it off and keep it off (at least for the duration of the session).

RE: v18 issues with cgm export and Section associativity
But back to your questions, as to your first issue, God only knows why you're having problems. And you'll probably have to call him for help since I suspect that no one at GTAC will want to look into something this out-of-date.
As for your second issue; yes, we've already addressed this so that now if you were to toggle that option OFF it would remain OFF until you toggled it back ON. However, to get this behavior you're going to have to install at least NX 5.0, or better yet, NX 7.5. What you have now can't be changed, period.
Sorry for the sarcasm but you have to look at this from our point of view. There is no practical way to support software products this old and in your case, installing something a bit more up-to-date will probably be your best move, from several points of view

I drive a twenty year old Ford I paid $3K for, it runs fine and I still get parts and support without having to go to a blog site - Why is it so ludicrous to expect support for $120K worth of software licenses I bought that are 9 years old?

BTW, I'm driving a 10 year old car which replaced a 16 year old one, so I know what it means to extract as much value as possible out of something.
