Satellite Dish footing

Satellite Dish footing

Satellite Dish footing

(OP)

I am following IBC code for the design of footing for 13feet dia. steel Satellite dish. but the code only considers the wind load. Since the steel dish of that size tend to be heavy, is it safe just to take the wind load in consideration?

BTW, does anyone have idea on how much the 13 feet steel satellite dish (7 feet above ground) would weigh?

As always any info. will be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

RE: Satellite Dish footing

Call the manufacturer about the weight of the dish.  Where are you building?  Depending on the weight and the wind, you might want to look at seismic.  And, depending on the angle etc, you may check snow, though it would likely just slide off.

I called manufacturer no luck as it is the existing dish that has to be relocated (n the model no. missing in the tags).I dont have to worry about seismic and snow loads i believe.
