Thermal Mass Calcs for Concrete

Thermal Mass Calcs for Concrete

(OP)
Hi all,

Has anyone got any advice on solving the below problem Ideally I would like to calculate it by hand and not using Solidworks or similar but im coming to the conclusion that solving it by computer would be much easier

Basically I have a steel pipe of diameter 100mm.  This pipe runs centrally through a concrete block of dimensions 1000 X 1000 X 1000mm.

The system is set-up so 400'C water is pumped through the pipe at a certain flow rate to heat up the surrounding block.  If I were to then reverse the system (so the now hot block is used to heat the cold water running through the pipe) what kind of output temperature would I be getting over a certain time period and also how long would the blocks thermal mass retain the heat for

thanks in advance.
