Renaming Configurations

Renaming Configurations

Renaming Configurations

(OP)
I had renamed some configurations the other day.  When I open the assembly now - it is prompting me with a message:

'the following configurations could not be found.  If they were renamed the same configurations will be used'

(or something close to that).

Shouldnt this message stop once I save the assembly?  It hasnt for some reason; every time i reopen the assembly (even after saving it) it gives me this message.

Anyone have an idea on why this might be happening?

Thanks,

-JW

RE: Renaming Configurations

Everytime you open the assembly, one of the parts is looking for a configuration that doesn't exist. So you get that message.

Just because you re-save the assembly, it doesn't change the part that is incorrect. So, the message will continue to appear until the issue is fixed.

2 options:

1) Delete the part if it is no longer needed.

2) Right click on the part, Select 'Properties', and select the proper configuration name that you want it to reference. Once it is referencing a configuration that exists, you can save the assy and that will stop the message from appearing.

Hope this helps.

RE: Renaming Configurations

I've seen the same issue, usually when opening an assembly lightweight.  With the assembly open; open the part, activate the renamed configuration, save the part, then save the assembly.  This normally eliminates the problem for me.

I've seen the same issue even when using SW Explorer to rename the configs.
