Silicone PTFE Hose

Silicone PTFE Hose

Silicone PTFE Hose

(OP)
Hello All,

I need a PTFE lined hose with Silicone cover. The only problem is the hose cannot have a stainless steel braid, or helix wire because of the application.

Does anyone know of a hose like this?

Thanks in advance

Thank you for your help, however, the Stratus hose has a stainless steel wire which unfortunately would not comply with our application.

Thanks though.

David,

Have you been in touch with any manufacturer asking for a product capable to meet your requirement? Anyway I wouldn't be focused only on standard products, maybe at Crane are able to provide a customized solution. I would definitely give them a ring.

RE: Silicone PTFE Hose

Where are you located?  Some local shops can make some more customized products.

RE: Silicone PTFE Hose

Getting a silicone cover on a teflon hose should not be a problem- buy two hoses and slip one into the other.  Getting a teflon hose with silicone cover which is rated for your (unstated) temperature and pressure requirements probably will be.

It is for a Alcohol processing application in the UK. You suggest maybe sleeving a silicone cover on to Teflon tube?

I want something with strong construction though, because it cannot have a stainless steel helix wire.

Thanks for your help.

RE: Silicone PTFE Hose

Silicone won't give you much more strength than the PTFE.  Can you live with a fabric reinforcement?

I think a silicone PTFE lined hose would have more strength than a PTFE tube with a silicone sleeve.

Preferably I would like a Silicone cover with PTFE lined. Sorry for the hastle.

Thanks.

RE: Silicone PTFE Hose

Why do you not want the stainless wire in the hose.  It does not touch the product.  You won't be able to see through the hose with the silcone cover so what is the problem.   Electrical isolation?  Strap on Ultrasonic flowmeter?  What?

Can you not use PFA tubing?
