Hello,
I was wondering if someone can help me. I'm trying to perform some dynamic analysis and think that explicit time steps are needed.
I'd like to apply a ramped load over a time step and then remove, also as a ramp, it over a subsequent time step.
When using dynamic-implicit time steps there is an option to set loads as ramps when creating the time step. This doesn't appear to be available in dynamic-explicit time steps.
I've tried creating the ramp when applying the load; by creating a smooth step amplitude. At time 0 the amplitude is 0, at time 1 the amplitude is 1.
This seems to work when applying the load but not when removing the load. The load is removed instaneously.
I've tried creating a second amplitude where at time 0 the amplitude is 1, at time 1 the amplitude is 0. But this doesn't work either.
Any ideas?

I created a table using TOTAL time rather than STEP time and applied the loads that way.
Rather than trying to remove the proagated load I removed it in the table and eventually it worked.
