Can anyone tell me if stair handrails in an industrial building have to meet ADA code?  Does the handrail need to have the 1 tread extention beyond the last tread and the 12" horizontal projection. The horizontal projection is the piece that seems out of the ordinary.

Thanks in advance

RE: Industrial Handrial

I just had to meet the ADA and NFPA requirements on this type of bldg. for stairs. Contact your local building official to be certain.
