Modelling complex bone geometry

Modelling complex bone geometry

Modelling complex bone geometry

(OP)
Hello all,

I am trying to model a complex bone structure (currently one solid model) with two different materials properties. I.e. the surface down to 5mm is one material and the rest is another. Any ideas/suggestions on how I can do this.
Thanks

RE: Modelling complex bone geometry

Skinning the part is onw way. Another way in Abaqus would be to create a part of the inner material and then copy that part and scale it up by factor to give you the additional 5mm of material. Merge the parts and keep the internal surfaces so as to assign the appropriate materials.

Yes, this is the problem I seem to be having too. Thanks for your input.
