PDM problem

PDM problem

PDM problem

(OP)
Hey everyone.  I am new on here and figured a pdm problem would be a good way to introduce myself.  Myself and another mechanical engineer have been trying to set up pdm 2010 and have run into a problem checking in/out files.  It allows us to check in, however, all files that we check in show up in grey and can not be checked out.  Also, ownership can not be taken.  If I right click on a file I do not have the check out choice.  I imagine that we missed a setting somewhere that does not give us access to our own checked in files, even though we are set to admin status.  Please help us!

RE: PDM problem

In the VaultAdmin program, confirm:

1) That you have read/write access within the relevant project(s)
2) That you have read/write access for the relevant Lifecycle status (if enabled)

Hey sorry for the delay, and thanks for the respons.  We checked the settings and the RW access is correct for both 1 and 2 above.  Anyone else have any other ideas of what this problem could be?

RE: PDM problem

Take a look at the explain access screen for any of the components. Also, do the parts you are trying to check out show up with a regular SW icon or the library icon? PDM can handle references to library components but they can't be opened directly from the vault, you would need to go to your library location.

They show up in gray with the regular SW part/assy icon next to them.

Actually, we have both.  Some with the SW icons and some with what I'm assuming is the pdm icon.

NEVERMIND!!!! Just checked properties again and realized that we had nothing set for lifecycle access.  THANKYOU!!!
