Flow Rate for Wind Turbine

Flow Rate for Wind Turbine

Flow Rate for Wind Turbine

(OP)
We are molding residential wind turbines with plastic injection and bonding them with adhesives. I am trying to calculate an acceptable leak rate which will prevent water intrusion. Is it fair to simply use atmospheric pressure and surface tension to solve for a hole diameter?

RE: Flow Rate for Wind Turbine

Problem would be at the shaft seal and at the power connection points.   Additional leakage where the pivot meets the housing.

Through the plastic?  Not for a small wind turbine.

Heat exchanger area and oil/generator cooling are not going to affect such a small wind turbine.
