Section view in CatpPart ?

Section view in CatpPart ?

Section view in CatpPart ?

I know it is easy to have a 3D solid sectional view of the Product using the space analysis toolbar. Can this be used with a CatPart too or is there another way to view a section through a multi body CatPart?

RE: Section view in CatpPart ?

R20 has this function, before this you need to create a temp sketch and enable cut part by section plane, or use split or the depth effect (cannot remember if this is just products) or make a face transparent (not really sectioning but allows you to see inside or put the part in a product

Thanks. I presently just go FILE NEW PRODUCT, drag my Part into the new Product, then use the space analysis toolbar. Once I do what I have, I then dump the Product.

RE: Section view in CatpPart ?

Starting with R19 it is possible to create a dynamic sectioning in a CATPart. It's a simple way for sectioning a part, without copy it into an assembly.
So, you have to Right Click somewhere on the toolbars and choose Customize. Now go on the Commands tab and click on All Commands from the left-side panel. On the right side panel go to the Dynamic Sectioning command and drag it in one of your toolbars. Voila! You have now a button for Dynamic Sectioning.

Enjoy it!
