Boolean operations in Assembly

(OP)
Hi,

I have two parts in my assembly and one overlaps the other. I would like to make the overlap of part 1 remove the covered material in part 2 in solidworks 2010 assembly. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

RE: Boolean operations in Assembly

I think the simplest method would be to use a Cavity feature.  Look in SW help under Mold Features.

Have you read FAQ731-376: Eng-Tips.com Forum Policies to make the best use of these Forums?

RE: Boolean operations in Assembly

You can also insert part 1 into part 2 and use combine bodies function to subtract part 1 from part 2.

Eric
