Sketch Plane to be extruded
Sketch Plane to be extruded
(OP)
I have a 2D sketch plane containing bunch of closed contours each has to be boss extruded separately because of different depths. If I select a closed contour at the beginning and boss-extrude it, i will lose the rest of the 2D drawing. And if I extrude a plane on which the contours are located to make it 'physical' again I lose the whole drawing. I tried the "extruded surface" feature to have an imaginary plane/surface but didn't get anywhere either.
Hope I was clear, Any idea out there??
I am uploading the 2D drawing for your reference,
Thanks a lot for the reply,

RE: Sketch Plane to be extruded
Use your sketch with the multiple contours as your master sketch. Then for each extrude of different depths, create a new sketch and convert the sketch entities of interest from your master sketch. One master sketch to edit, multiple features of different lengths based from the master sketch.

JMirisola and others,
1) Thanks for your reply
2) I was so busy that didnt get the chance to work on this drawing till this week, I tried your hints but no success yet, ..Can you please explain more about "utilize the 'sketch contours' box in the extrude dialog" on this thread?
Thanks again,

Search the help for "Contour Selection" - you should find examples that clarify how to re-use a single sketch to create multiple features.
