(OP)
Ok. I did a search and did not find the specifics on what I am looking for.

I am currently using NX3 & 6.

If a customer gives me their own .cdf file, what is the way I want to implement it for the entire assembly. I have tried 2 different ways. First , I tried pointing UG to it using customer defaults. Second, I just changed the name to "ugcolor.cdf and overwrote the cdf file in the UGII folder.

In both of these cases it wants to go to some kind of default color scheme and if I open the new cdf file in preferences visualization, it changes to the new color pallate that I want, but every time I make a new component in a sub assembly, It is not grabbing the desired .cdf file.

How do I (where do I) point UG to a customer's cdf file so that UG uses that for everything in the assembly? Also, does 3 use it differently than 6?

Thanks in advance.
Adam

RE: .cdf files

Here is a post that may answer part of your problem:

To import a cdf you need to open your color pallette. In NX6 is is:
preferences > color pallette
Then, towards the bottom is an icon (in NX6, expand "options") that reads "open CDF"

I am really not sure if a cdf file from NX6 will be able to be opened up in NX3, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
You may want to save your NX3 cdf file someplace - In case something fails, so you will be able you get back to your original NX3 colors easily.
