ST2 import a step file assy xp pro

ST2 import a step file assy xp pro

(OP)
So anybody had this issue with ST2?

I try importing a step file that I know is an assembly of parts.

I can not import it.  No issues show just gives me a blank screen.

I go to import it as a .par tells me want to import it even though it is an assy proceed.  I do this and i get my file I'm looking for.  It is a body feature not modifiable.

I tried exporting an assy of two parts as a step and then pulling it back in.  Does not work.  But go to the .par and it works.

Anybody having the same issue and got a fix.

RE: ST2 import a step file assy xp pro

Hi killysdad,

By defaut, on solidedge, you can't have much than one part in a file...

Therefore, you must assign the body you want to modify as "based feature" (right click on body).

An other way is to export each part as single file in STEP or PARASOLID by using "export option" and export only visible part, and then, you re-import each part.

NB : I have a french version, my traduction can be approximative.

Best regards.
