Need GOOD electrochemistry text.

Need GOOD electrochemistry text.

Need GOOD electrochemistry text.

(OP)
Hi, I realize this is slightly out of place in this forum but I'm hoping a fellow EE can help me out.

I'm finding that most of the electrochemistry authors out there don't have a good grasp of electrical theory. Can anyone recommend a good electrochemistry text or online reference. One written by a physicist or engineer would be nice, no offence to chemists but they just don't speak my language.

Thanks

RE: Need GOOD electrochemistry text.

What about a college / undergrad electrical principles text? Once you understand the electrical stuff properly you will almost certainly find it easier to follow the books written by the chemistry guys without falling into their well of confusion. I remember many years ago reading a text on plating and anodising (when I worked in thick film hybrids) and was initially confused until I realised that the book's author simply didn't have much knowledge of the electrical aspects of the subject and the descriptions were somewhat vague or just plain wrong. I do sympathise with you!

I don't know your existing level of knowledge but a reasonable text from my studying days was "Electrical & Electronic Principles" by J Bird (I think - it's on my office bookshelf and I'm on holiday). There was also a book by D Tyler with a similar title which is aimed slightly lower in complexity but rarely left my desk during my first year.
