(OP)
I went to create an eDrawing and my installation manager checked for updates and found SWX 2011 SP0.  Download away!

I'll be interested to hear first impressions from everyone.

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

My first impression will be available after the first update is available, installed, and works for a while. Suit yourself.

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

SW2011 SP0 became available for download on the 18th.

I've only had it installed (at home) for a couple of days, so still in testing phase ... but so far so good.

I haven't seen any major problems reported over at the SW forums.

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

Not many big enhancements to SW2011. I'm not impressed, and almost had fallen asleep during the software rollout.

Welding folks should be happy. It's about time SW did somthing for them. I'll stop with the separate posts.

I'd have to disagree with macduff.  The improvements in Admin images, drawings, 2D sections in Simulation, and the knowledge base search bar are more than worth the price of admission.

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

I didn't go to the roll-out because I have seen/heard/read very little about the 2011 version. It seems to me to be very little interest this time, or marketing is doing a poor job.
We can't update until our parent company updates next year.

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

Like the guys so far have said, not a lot of new stuff.  Interesting thing that is in the release, is improved memory management.   They have admitted that 2010 is not releasing memory very well.  Some sheet metal enhancements.  More sustainability features to keep the Al Gore crowd happy.  I guess if you have have "green" enough products people will come.  I have it installed at home, and it runs well.  My realview is gone though, I have a hacked Quadro 4000 card (6800 GT) that up till 2011 had full realview.  Oh well, the computer is getting pretty old anyway...

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

My company has been making the switch from autocad to SW and I have been trying to make some templates for parts and drawings. Having the ability to suppress features in equations has been extremely useful. Other than that not too much noticed as different.

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

Damnit, Colin!  I fell asleep at my roll out yesterday.  Somehow I think it's your fault.

RE: SWX 2011 Apparently Available

SolidWorks Corp spent more time stabilizing the software versus adding more bells/whistles. While they did add a few things (Defeature, better weldments for example), speed and stability were the major focus. Their contention is the 2011 SP0.0 is as stable as older versions' SP5.0.

Dan,
LMAO over here! Yeah, go ahead and blame me because I'm use to it from my ex-wife. :)

Jeff,
Can I hold you to your comment about stabilizing performance? :) SW's been preaching this for years! I'm using SW2010 and still dealing with my file size creeping? I used the word creeping and it's almost Halloween, how appropriate!

Have nice weekend folks!
