I-BEAM LOSD VS SPAN?

I-BEAM LOSD VS SPAN?

I-BEAM LOSD VS SPAN?

(OP)
I AM LOOKING FOR A CHART OR SOMETHING THAT CAN GIVE ME SOME IDEA OF THE LOAD AN I-BEAM COULD HANDLE OVER DIFFERENT SPANS. A CHART THAT SHOWS STANDARD I-BEAMS FROM SPANS IN 5 OR 10 FOOT SPACINGS. FOR 12" BY 31.8,35, 40.8,AND 50 POUND PER FOOT BEAMS. THIS IS JUST FOR A REFERANCE NOT FOR A SINGLE APPLICATION.

RE: I-BEAM LOSD VS SPAN?

For calculating the load bearing capacity of an I-beam u need to evaluate the maximum bending stress with reference to ur load conditions. this should not exceed the allowable bending strength of the material u r selecting. also for this, u need to check out the moment of inertia for the particular section u r taking.
