How to remesh a model

How to remesh a model

How to remesh a model

(OP)
Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with my model because I don't know how to remesh it. I hope someone will be able to help me...
I have a ring in 2D.
The interior side of the ring is fixed. The exterior side is rotating (30°/minute). You can run the .inp attached file.

The extorior side should rotate with 360°. But without a remesh we can only rotate about 30°.

I checked the documentation but I didn't understand very well how to perform it.

Is someone could explain me how to remesh my model every 20° for exemple to be able to do the 360° plz?

Best regards,
Pipo159

RE: How to remesh a model

*Step, name=Step-1, nlgeom=YES, inc=100000
*Static
1., 60., 1e-20, 60.

try running with a SMALLER increment! And you have two options, try using 360 instead of 60 or converting it do RADIANS!

Best regards,
Eduardo

Hi everyone,

Thanks for your answer Posteduardocamargo.
You are right, I talked about degrees but in my inp file I wrote it in radians.

The problem was I need to remesh because the elements are going to be to deformed by shear.
I have founded a solution: I used the keyword *map solution.
So after every 30°(0.5rads). I start a new job with the initial mesh.

Best regards,
Pipo159
