NX6 - Tool Library

NX6 - Tool Library

(OP)
Hi All,

Trying to set up a probe tool in NX6 but having trouble importing the standard file for modification.
I've tried editing the data in the tool file but am just guessing at what is falling over.

Does anyone have a Probe tool working in NX?
Would you mind copying and pasting it out of the tool library text file and sending it over?

Many thanks in advance

Richard

RE: NX6 - Tool Library

The probe is a "solid tool", not a parametric tool.
You need to model the probe in a separate part, create a probe tool, and then export to the library with the part file.

Ok, I've modelled the tool but do not have the right icon in the 'Create Tool' menu.
Does this mean we don't have the right licensing?

Thanks

RE: NX6 - Tool Library

In the Create Tool dialog, set the Type to probing.
If this is not available, browse to your templates and select probing.prt.
