API 650 Appendix F units error

API 650 Appendix F units error

API 650 Appendix F units error

(OP)
Greetings all:
I need confirmation of a mathematical error on API 650,Appendix F, section F4 Maximum Design Pressure and Test Procedure. Equation F.4.1-US Customary Units:
The equation is : P = ((30800*A*tan (theta))/D^2)+8*th

All the variables are in inches with exception to D, as defined in the text: D is in feet. Which doesn't make sense because the final result is supposed to be inches of water. Am I missing something or do I assume/accept that the unit error is accounted for in the 30800 coefficient?  Any comments would greatly be appreciated.
