Installation of new header for cut in URM

Installation of new header for cut in URM

Installation of new header for cut in URM

(OP)
I have a detail for a steel header for making a cut in some unreinforced brick masonry.  I have had some experience in making cuts in URM (even in stone masonry) but they included a lot of work with the contractor on how to reinforce the wall step-at-a-time.  In this case, I am not working for the contractor, but the owner.  QUESTION:  Does anybody have a good note regarding installation of a steel lintel that would suffice so that I don't have to go well past my fee?

RE: Installation of new header for cut in URM

I would detail it the same regardless of whether I am working for the contractor or the owner.
