How to reduce effect of pressure drop in gas side of a old HRSG boiler?

RE: HRSG gas side pressure drop

If the old unit had fired oil ( with traces of sulphur) or fired odorized nat gas ( with sulphur bearing odorant) then the back end sections ( metal temp below 450 F) may be plugeged with ammonium bisulphate boogers. I understand  the most effective way of cleaning/ removing  these deposits is using frozen CO2 pellets.
