P&ID stencils - where to buy?
P&ID stencils - where to buy?
(OP)
I often find myself doing initial layouts for P&IDs. A lot of the time it's quicker & easier to do a pencil sketch of the system first. I've seen other people that have stencils to draw valves, flanges, control devices, etc, but I haven't found a source to get stencils like these for myself.
Does anyone know where to get these?

The stencil templates that I have stuck in a drawer at home were bought at an engineering supply house that was a couple blocks away from the engineering firm where I worked some 25 years ago. I know it's not in business anymore.
You might find something at Michaels, Office Max, or Office Depot. I've seen templates there for the standard different sizes circles, but haven't had any need to look for anything additional.

Surely you're not the only one in need so you could order a decent volume and offer them to friends/coworkers to recoup costs.

Some will chime in here and say 'do it in Visio or PowerPoint'. To that I say: to get a whole D-size sheet to the point where it's manipulatable is beyond the capability of 17" or 21" monitors because by the time you allow room for thr title block and the equipment call-outs, everything is too small. Plus I am faster with paper.
