Question about how to determine fault limiting current

Question about how to determine fault limiting current

Question about how to determine fault limiting current

(OP)
Hi, I was following this thread as I am trying to determine how to size a resistor for a 1040kVA 20% impedance delta-wye grounding transformer at 2400VAC, the neutral ground resistor is rated for 10 seconds.

RE: Question about how to determine fault limiting current

Line-neutral voltage divided by the resistance gives the current.  Or, line-neutral voltage divided by the current gives the resistance.  Basic Ohms law.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the quick response, my headline is deceiving I actually don't know the resistor size.

Thanks Monty

RE: Question about how to determine fault limiting current

Then use the desired current to calculate the resistor size.

And who's Dave?
