cone-flange connection

cone-flange connection

cone-flange connection

(OP)
Hi,
First I would like to apologise for possible english mistakes.

I am trying to analyse a vessel according to div. 1

I need to connect a cone shell(angle 20 degrees) to a ring flange.
Is it possible to just weld the parts with a corner joint  on the top of the flange? It would be somehow like fig. UW13-2-l. but with an  angle.
Or would I need a flange with a hub to make a proper connection?

Thanks for any tips

RE: cone-flange connection

Jade24, apparently, such a design shall be per UG-2(g), see Table UW-12, Type (8).

Regards,

Mike
