Pressure sustaining valve for wastewater effluent application

Pressure sustaining valve for wastewater effluent application

(OP)
I'm looking for a pressure sustaining valve for use in a force main transporting effluent from a wastewater collection system.  The wastewater contains low levels (20-30 mg/L) of low density suspended solids (in other words, "floaties").

The valve needs to maintain +/-15 PSI on the inlet while passing flows of 0-100 GPM.  The valve should close if the inlet pressure drops below the set-point, and fully open when the inlet pressure exceeds the set-point.

A valve similar to this:

would be sufficient.  But I've talked to a few reps and they have said they are not suitable for use with wastewater.  I'm not sure if they equate wastewater with high solids sewage, or if the low level of suspended solids actually presents a problem for that style of valve.

Thanks in advance for any of your input or suggestions!

Failed to mention...  The valve must be made in America or be in compliance with the Buy American clause of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

Red valve company make a rubber pinch valve that has been used in sewerage applications as you describe.

Also consider the Dezurik eccentric plug valve.
